Meet the sheep
Summer Season
Farm Tour 1 - lunch
Feed & Eat
This tour is available in June, July and August, and offers an authentic and personal encounter with Faroese farm life, where sheep have been at the heart of daily life and food traditions for generations. During summer, most sheep roam freely in the mountains, grazing as they always have. We keep a small group of special sheep closer to the farm, giving our guests the rare opportunity to meet them up close, feed them by hand, and interact with them in a calm and respectful way.
As we spend time with the animals, we share stories and insights into Faroese sheep culture and the deep connection between sheep, nature, and the Faroese kitchen. You’ll learn how sheep have shaped traditional cooking, preservation methods, and meals passed down through generations.
After your time with the sheep, you’ll be invited into the farmhouse for lunch: a traditional Faroese soup made from the rich broth left from preparing rullupylsa (rolled sausage). This nourishing meal reflects the Faroese way of cooking — using the whole animal with respect, simplicity, and care.
Discover Faroese culture through close encounters, storytelling, and honest food rooted in tradition, and enjoy a truly authentic farm-to-table experience in a beautiful rural setting.
We look forward to welcoming you.
